Shine is Cancer Research UK's night time walking marathon. You can choose to complete either a full marathon or a half marathon to raise funds for our life-saving work.

Bring light to the lives of people affected by cancer
Shine is Cancer Research UK’s night time walking marathon. We use light as a symbol of hope and the progress we are making in the fight against cancer.
Shine is open to men, women and children over 13 years. You can choose to either walk a full marathon or a half marathon to raise awareness and funds for Cancer Research UK.
In 2011 Shine took place in Manchester for a second year and we held our first Shine events in Glasgow and London. In 2012 Shine is returning to Manchester and London.
Shine is a unique fundraising event that enables you to choose where your money is spent. You can select one of 12 cancer types or choose to raise funds for Cancer Research UK’s general work. Either way, you can be sure that the funds you raise will be spent wisely where they are needed most.
