What is Shine?
Let’s walk all over cancer. Let’s Shine.
Shine is Cancer Research UK's night- time walking marathon open to men, women and children over 13 years. You can choose to complete either a full marathon or a half marathon to raise funds for translational research, which aims to turn breakthroughs in the lab into real treatments for patients.
In 2013 Shine will be returning to London for the third year running. Join us at Shine 2013 - London for an unforgettable night helping to beat cancer.
Our night-time walking marathon means that you can stay in shape and raise money for the cancer you want to beat.

Bring light to the lives of people affected by cancer
Shine is Cancer Research UK’s night time walking marathon. We use light as a symbol of hope and the progress we are making in the fight against cancer.
Shine is open to men, women and children over 13 years. You can walk a full marathon or half marathon to raise awareness and funds for research into new treatments and help bring forward the day all cancers are cured.
Shine is a unique fundraising event that enables you to choose where your money is spent. You can select one of 12 cancer types or choose to raise funds for research to find new treatments for all types of cancer. Either way, you can be sure that the funds you raise will be spent wisely where they are needed most.
